Tributes pour in for George Bizos

In a Tweet last night President Cyril Ramaphosa said the news of the passing of George Bizos is very sad for us as a country.

The Legal Resources Centre said the anti-apartheid activist died peacefully at home of natural causes, attended to by his family. The renowned human rights activist and lawyer died at the age of 92. Bizos represented the late former South African President Nelson Mandela and Walter Sisulu at the the Rivonia and Treason trials. In a Tweet last night President Cyril Ramaphosa said the news of the passing of George Bizos is very sad for us as a country. Ramaphosa described Bizos as an incisive legal mind and architect of our Constitution “He contributed immensely to our democracy.
