Police recover stolen property in Kliprivier

SEDIBENG.– The Sedibeng District Commander, Major General Zodwa Molefe has congratulated the police in Sedibeng for running a successful operation of recovering stolen property in Kliprivier last week.

According to Police Spokesperson Captain Fikile Funda, the police received intelligence that a truck that had been hijacked in Germiston had been
traced to a plot in Kliprivier.

The Police found this truck at a plot in Kliprivier along with three firearms, livesstock and vehicles suspected to have been used to commit crimes.

“Members of the SAPS were informed and rushed to plot 38 on Nelson Road. On arrival, the police caught the suspects who were busy offloading skin care products and consumables from the trailer of the truck.

“On further investigation, the police found livestock, three firearms and vehicles of different makes on the premises. The suspects could not account to the ownership of the property. We are investing a case of possession of unlicensed firearms, possession of suspected stolen property and ammunition.”
The vehicles found on the premises were impounded as they are suspected to have been used while committing crimes. Molefe gave a stern warning to criminals, saying that they would find it difficult to commit crime, as the police in the district remain alert at all times.
