Freight Liner Services’ shares their Covid-19 survival story
"We got news about a little "surprise" in lockdown too (due in March 2021)"
Stonehaven-on-Vaal, in collaboration with Vaalweekblad and Ster, is currently hosting a competition for Vaal Triangle businesses to hear what plans they have made to deal with the Covid-19 Lockdown, and how they came out stronger on the other side. The winning company will receive a gift voucher of R10 000 that can be used for a year-end party OR a 2021 Start-up party at Stonehaven! Here is Freight Liner Services’ entry:
Freight Liner Services’ courageous bunch share their Lockdown story:
Covid-19 hit us with quite a surprise (like all other businesses around us) but it definitely didn’t scare us from running a business.
We did not hesitate to get our essential services papers; we need them you see because we work with generators. We made sure we were not just going to sit around and do nothing. And so we were blessed with enough work to keep our doors open.
We then decided to give thanks for all the work and hard work from our employees by supplying vegetables, meat and beverages to all our workers and to two children’s homes in Sasolburg who were also struggling.
With schools being closed, we also converted a part of the office into a little classroom for our kids. While we worked, so did they (yea I know – horrible parents no holiday for the kids, LOL) but it was for their own best in the long run.
We did our Zoom braais after work (braai over the cell phone, each at their own house) and shared a few interesting recipes. We got news about a little “surprise” in lockdown too (due in March 2021), proving there wasn’t social distancing in that house, LOL. And we had our own Covid-19 scare but it turned out to be just that: a scare.
As a company we grew stronger, as a family we strived and survived.
Covid-19 showed us that we can prevail and we will not go down without a fight because our Freightliner family is strong and brave.
