R2.4 billion investment coming to Emfuleni
Jobs and opportunities for local businesses will be on the agenda when Mayor Hassan Mako outlines the investment on Monday.
VANDERBIJLPARK – AB InBev plans to invest R2.4 billion in expanding its operations in Emfuleni, according to the Emfuleni Local Municipality.
Mayor Hassan Mako will give details at a media briefing on Monday, November 2.
The municipality says the expansion could mean more jobs and work for local businesses. It has not yet named the facility involved or said when construction will start.
“Emfuleni must not only be a place where people live; it must become a place where businesses invest, industries thrive and people find opportunities to prosper,” Mako said.
The municipality described the investment as a sign that businesses see opportunities in the Vaal despite the problems Emfuleni has faced over the years.
According to the mayor’s office, Monday’s briefing will cover what the investment involves, the jobs it could create and opportunities for local businesses, young people and residents.
