Weekly MyRun events return to Emerald Casino

VANDERBIJLPARK. - With the gradual easing of lockdown restrictions, several free weekly MyRun events across South Africa saw a return in the past few weeks.

The MyRun at the Emerald Resort has now also reopened for the first time since the national state of disaster was announced by Cyril Ramaphosa and the subsequent lockdown that came into effect on midnight of Thursday, 26 March 2020.
The first event took place on Sunday the 25th of October.
Events will be taking place every Sunday morning, but under strict COVID-19 protocols.
All participants are required to wear a mask before and after their walk/run, are to have their temperature taken at the screening station and tap their band to accept the COVID-19 self-declaration health document
Runners and walkers were warned that if their temperatures were above 37.8°, they would not be allowed to participate.
The event includes a 2,5km and 5km route that can either be walked or run.
Every person requires a Discovery timing band to participate as the band is tapped to record attendance as well as acceptance of the COVID-19 policy and health declaration.
Simply put: No timing band, no participation.
Start is any time between 07:45 and 08:15.
You simply arrive, tap your band at the start pod and at the finish when you are done.
Automated individual starts ensure that there is no gathering and that everyone remains socially distanced.
Visit www.myrun.org.za or the Myrun Emerald Resort Facebook page for more information on this free weekly event.
