ELM to undertake on a massive roads rehabilitation program

Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) will undertake a massive roads rehabilitation program.

To kick off the project ELM’s Roads Department resealed Macowen Street in Vanderbijlpark SE 2.  The week-long project started on Thursday, 11 February 2021 and covered 700-meters of Macowen. According to ELM the resealing created over eight temporary job opportunities for local residents who were employed by the contractor, NBN Civils. For this project, ELM incurred expenditure to the tune of R3-million. Depending on the availability of financial resources, the Roads Department will undertake resealing projects across the municipality. Identified and prioritized roads for this program will be communicated in due course. The rehabilitation program will be led by the Gauteng Provincial Government.
