Emergency water supply interruption

The water supply reductions were imposed on ELM by Rand Water as a credit control measure since Thursday, 25 February.

SEDIBENG.- Due to additional water supply reductions imposed on the Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) by Rand Water large parts of Emfuleni is experiencing water shortages.

The water supply reductions were imposed on ELM by Rand Water as a credit control measure since Thursday, 25 February.

Higher laying areas in Vereeniging, Evaton, Sebokeng, Vanderbijlpark, Bophelong, Roshnee and Rus-Ter-Vaal are the most affected by the reductions.

In a statement ELM said: “The municipality is currently in talks with Rand Water in an effort to find lasting solutions to the shortages.

We apologize for the inconvenience and further encourage residents to use water sparingly at all times.”
