University Sport South Africa at its Executive Committee Meeting held on Friday, 11 June 2021, took a decision to postpone all physical contact competitions scheduled from July to September 2021.
The decision was taken following the announcement by the President of the South Africa that stated in terms of the National Disaster Management Act, the country move from Level 1 to an adjusted Level 2 lockdown.
All virtual and eSports competitions may continue, even though some virtual competitions might require students to access sports facilities with minimal contact.

All other Varsity Sport competitions will continue as planned. Institutions that participate and compete in National, Provincial, and Regional Federation competitions are encouraged to continue with these as they do not fall under the jurisdiction of USSA.
