Rotary Club of Riverside donates container to Pinedene
There has always been a strong bond between the Rotary Club of Riverside and Pinedene Primary School.
VANDERBIJLPARK. – The Rotary Club of Riverside officially donated a container to Pinedene Primary School on Thursday, 17 June 2021.
The container has been standing on the school grounds for quite some time but has always been used by the Rotarians as a storage facility for some of their community projects’ shoes, books and T-shirts.
School principal, Bea du Pont, said they were grateful to obtain full ownership of the container as they will use it for all their sporting equipment.
“The room previously used as a storage room had to be refurbished and is now used as an isolation room to abide with the Covid-19 regulations,” she said.
Bea also said they are in the process of renovating the whole school.
Some of the rooms already had a makeover, while there are plans to build more classrooms in the coming years.
At the official handover, the president of the Rotary Club of Riverside, Desire du Toit, said they enjoy working with the schools in the area and that they are always willing to help wherever they can.
