Mall closes as precautionary measure following unrest and looting

River Square Shopping Centre is one of many local businesses in the Vaal that decided to close as a result of riots breaking out across the country.

The mall said in a statement that tenants had been urged to discontinue trade with immediate effect as a precautionary measure.

Additional security and riot control are on standby should we be affected by the unrest,” the mall said in a statement.

For now, the closure will apply from today, 12 July 2021, and the situation will be monitored on a day-to-day basis.
