Protests delay transformer delivery at Munic Substation

The municipality is pleading for patience from consumers in Miami Sands, CE 3 and 7 while technicians continue to work on efforts to restore power supply.

VANDERBIJLPARK.- The delivery of an electricity transformer that was set to land at Munic Substation on Monday, 12 July 2021 has been delayed.

The municipality jointly with the service provider hoped to move the 20 MVA transformer from Johannesburg to Vanderbijlpark on Monday however, due to violent protests currently plaguing Gauteng, most of the delivery routes have been closed.
Grading of the gravel road to access the substation has been completed, ready for the replacement transformer to arrive at Munic Substation soon as it is safe to do so.
The municipality is pleading for patience from consumers in Miami Sands, CE 3 and 7 while technicians continue to work on efforts to restore power supply. Updates will be communicated regularly as and when there are developments. We apologize for the inconvenience.
