The Vaal Wine Route is back until 29 August!

August is Woman’s Month - is there any better way to celebrate than to sip, savour and enjoy some of South Africa’s finest wines?

The very popular Vaal Wine Route is back offering weekend wine tastings within the Three Rivers, Vereeniging and Vanderbijlpark areas. A dozen venues will showcase, uncork and pour South Africa’s finest wines every Saturday, Sunday and on the Public Holiday, Woman’s Day on August 9.

Wine lovers can enjoy tasting eight different wines for R50 – a very well-priced wine treat to beat the winter blues, considering that the fee for tasting wine in the Cape region is priced much higher.

The Vaal Wine Route is not only ideal for experienced wine connoisseurs but is a great experience for those new to wine tasting. It is a relaxed and pleasant well-priced winter outing, where anyone can learn to appreciate the wonderful wines South Africa boasts. The different wine tasting venues are so diverse and offer contrasting experiences as do their wines.

You can enjoy sipping wine at a classy hotel on the Vaal River; in front of a roaring fireplace in a cosy pub; in a quirky Pub that oozes fun and character; aboard a luxurious Cruiser on Millionaire’s Mile; enjoy wine tasting with a delicious meal or wine tasting with a bit of trying your hand at Lady Luck.

There are also optional extras to add to your experience, such as food and wine pairing, special spa treatment packages, dining specials and more. Plan your own wine tasting route by taxi, self-drive or via a river cruiser.

No entry fee or ticket required, simply pay the wine tasting fee at your chosen venues.

Demand for this annual event should be high following the recent alcohol ban, be sure to call and make a table reservation for wine tasting as space is very limited. The winter wine tasting experience starts at 12:00 and ends at 18:00. The last table booking is at 17:00 as the wine tasting experience is one hour. Full Covid-19 safety protocol are followed to ensure the safety of guests and the staff at the venue. Wine tasting will be done at individual tables with the appropriate social distancing of tables.
