A fire ripped through Umgababa flats (Ward 12) in Sasolburg on Tuesday.

The fire started on the early hours of Tuesday, 22 March.

According to Metsimaholo Local Municipality (MLM) 16 units were heavily damaged and less than five people were admitted in hospital because of smoke inhalation.

MLM has said that it is eagerly awaiting the investigations and reports into this disastrous incident and will ensure that a formal investigation into the cause of the fire is speedily undertaken.
