Let’s support the SPCA and show them ‘We Care’

VEREENIGING. - Local animal activist Yvette Wilde (founder of 50 Shades of Spay) thought of this wonderful initiative and would like to share the idea with other local residents across the Vaal and ask for their support.

She writes:
The staff at SPCA Vereeniging & Vanderbijlpark have been subjected to the most horrendous animal abuse in the past week. A dog was slaughtered and they had to collect the remains and open a case against the owner. The thought of what confronted them haunts me and I have no doubt it has left permanent scarring on the staff.
The recent influx of pitbulls has taken its toll as well. They are so busy collecting unwanted dogs. Trying to deal with animals that have had no social interaction with humans but have been left chained in the backyard and now these dogs that are unmanageable have to be loaded and brought to the SPCA putting the staff at risk every time.
It is a thankless job with very few highs and a lot of lows yet these people show up for work everyday and try to make a difference in the lives of those that cannot speak.
Left: Yvette Wilde (founder of 50 Shades of Spay) needs the community to get involved and support the “We Care” project.
I want to suggest we start a “ We Care” support group.
How will it work?
Let’s show our gratefulness to our local SPCA by taking the time to drop off an We Care package.
There are 20 staff members between the SPCA Vereeniging and SPCA Vanderbijlpark.
This package can contain anything from cooldrink to sweets to cake (a spoonful of sugar always helps) or even lunch. If you feel you would rather donate petrol money or to the vet account which is much needed please find the banking details attached.
Simply use the ref: We care and they will allocate your donation to the petrol or vet account as needed.
We are always assisting each other when we have a bad day let’s assist the people that make a difference in our community animals well being every day, let’s show the true spirit of community. Let’s show them we care. Included in your package write them a little note so they know how much they are appreciated.
