Every year around Christmas, Lusa Community Chest paints smiles on the hearts and faces of children in care centres in the Vaal Triangle. This year was no exception. Thanks to partnerships with businesses and individual contributors the Community Chest was once again able to present beneficiaries of care organisations with gifts for less privileged children.

“We were able to provide for just under a 1 000 children. They received personalised, practical and worthy gifts to make them feel special and to realize that there are still good people in the community,” says Retha Jacobs, coordinator of Lusa’s annual Wish Upon A Star Project. “Furthermore, we were able to support many people who work as entrepreneurs, who supplied us with gifts and in the process were able to put food on their tables.”
