Midvaal Local Municipality strengthens partnerships with faith-based organisations
Midvaal Local Municipality’s (MLM) Executive Mayor, Ald Peter Teixeira, together with the Members of the Mayoral Committee hosted over 50 Pastors from different denominations and churches from across Midvaal.
MIDVAAL. – The purpose of the gathering was to foster and enhance relations between the municipality and Faith-Based Organizations (FBOs).
The municipality said in a statement it recognises the pivotal role played by FBOs in shaping our communities.
“These organizations provide a vital moral foundation that reinforces social order within our society.
“In addition to fostering relations, the meeting centred around the Mayor’s key priorities and exploring collaborative opportunities with FBOs,” the executive mayor said in a statement.
Key discussions included the role of Pastors in addressing mental health challenges and identifying effective strategies to combat social issues prevalent in Midvaal.
“By forging strong partnerships with stakeholders like Faith-Based Organizations, the municipality is committed to becoming a people-centred and compassionate institution,” Teixiera says.
