Econoflex: 32 Years of Excellence in Hydraulic and Lifting Solutions

Direct Importers and Repair Centre for Air tools, Hydraulic Equipment, Pumps, Specialised Hand Tools, Lifting and Welding Equipment

VANDERBIJLPARK. – Econoflex is an innovative and diversified national supplier of quality products, trusted brands and creative solutions, assisting  clients who use hydraulic, pneumatic, air and specialized tools. Clients are also assisted  with lifting tackle and crane maintenance.

In September 1993, Econoflex (Pty) Ltd was founded by Graig and Shantel Venter, joined by Harold Ferguson (present owner) in 1998. The company began as a small supplier of hydraulic equipment sales and repairs, with Mittal and Sasol as its main customers. Since then it has evolved into a leading provider of lifting and hydraulic solutions, boasting 107 staff members, 8 branches, and a fleet of 52 vehicles. These include an 8 ton high-up truck and a 3.5 ton truck, which are used for the company’s own deliveries and collections.

Over the years, Econoflex has achieved numerous milestones. The company became the sole distributor for Ingersoll Rand in 1996 and direct importers for Enerpac in 1999. Econoflex is one of only three distributors for Enerpac. In 2010, Econoflex registered for Lifting Machinery Equipment (LME) with the Department of Labour. Since 2022 the company operates from its new state-of-the-art premises in Turbo Industrial Park, Vanderbijlpark. The facility features two workshops, one for lifting and another for hydraulics, as well as a spacious administration and showroom block. A third workshop for pump repairs is currently under construction and expected to be completed soon. The fully equipped hydraulic department has four field vehicles available 24/7 for repairs and maintenance.

The company’s commitment to excellence is reflected in its experienced management team and staff. A lifting and pump division manager, a hydraulic division manager and a sales manager form part of the Management team. The managers bring invaluable knowledge and expertise to the table and the rest of the staff are equally skilled and dedicated to providing top-notch service. Econoflex’s growth is also evident in its expanding branch network. The Secunda branch, established in 1997, is thriving under the leadership of Bunnedette Kleynhans Van der Merwe – the first lady branch manager. After five years she still runs the branch very effectively with 45 staff members. More recently, the Middelburg branch in Mpumalanga relocated to new premises, complete with a workshop and administration offices.

As Econoflex celebrates 32  years of operation, it’s clear that the company’s success is built  on its unwavering commitment to quality, customer  satisfaction, and community involvement. With its rich history, experienced team, and cutting-edge facilities, Econoflex is poised to continue delivering exceptional lifting and hydraulic solutions for years to come.
