A legacy of leadership comes to an end at Roshnee Primary

VEREENIGING - "Mr. Sayed's legacy will continue to inspire, motivate and teach generations to come," a spokesperson of Roshnee Primary School said in an official letter to announce Mr. M.K. Sayed's retirement.

His passion for teaching was ignited at a very young age. Growing up, he would often play ” school” with his younger brother, taking on the role of teacher and enthusiastically imparting his knowledge.

Mr. Sayed’s illustrious career started in Roshnee in January 1983 at Roshnee Secondary School, which was a combined school at the time.

From humble beginnings as a teacher, he embarked on a remarkable journey to the institution’s helm, and his career spanned an impressive 42 years.

Mr. Sayed’s career spanned an impressive 42 years.

“With every step of his journey, Mr. Sayed demonstrated an unwavering commitment to education. He delighted in watching children blossom in a safe, healthy environment. The juniors crowned his day with their sincere, spontaneous behavior.”

One of Mr. Sayed’s most notable achievements was completing his Master of Education (M.Ed) degree.

This qualification marked a significant milestone in his academic journey, demonstrating his commitment to lifelong learning and professional growth.

Mr. Sayed has earned a well-deserved break. He plans to take two months to relax, recharge and reflect on his remarkable journey.

Mr. Sayed’s message to all teachers is as follows:

“Teaching is not just a job. It’s a calling. Handle all pupils with care. You are not just teaching subjects, you are shaping minds and touching hearts”.

* Two other esteemed members of the Roshnee Primary family have also bid farewell. Mrs. Sayed (deputy principal) and Suliman Dichwele (chief groundsman) have also retired. The trios’ departure leaves a void that will be deeply felt.
