Lakeside Multipurpose Centre nears completion

The centre, rapidly nearing completion, will provide safe, accessible recreation for Midvaal residents.

MEYERTON – The Midvaal Local Municipality says the Lakeside Multipurpose Centre is almost complete.

Executive Mayor Alderman Peter Teixeira visited the site this week to assess progress, accompanied by Members of the Mayoral Committee and Municipal Manager Phumudzo Magodi.

According to the municipality, major parts of the development are finished, including the astroturf field, tennis courts, ablution facilities, a 5-a-side football pitch, and the main hall.

Remaining work includes water connections to improve pressure, as well as paving and landscaping.

The municipality expects to officially open the centre in June 2026.

Officials said the facility forms part of ongoing efforts to provide recreational spaces and opportunities for youth in the area.
