A group of Democratic Alliance supporters is leading a picket at the entrance of the Vereeniging taxi rank during the visit of Deputy President Paul Mashatile.

Mashatile is paying a visit to the Sedibeng District Municipality (SDM) to engage local government and monitor progress on the implementation of the commitments made during the Presidential Imbizo of August 2022, by President Cyril Ramaphosa.

The party’s MPL in Emfuleni, Kingsol Chabalala said the purpose of their picket is to highlight the plight of service   delivery and project management in Emfuleni to the Deputy President.

Chabalala also stated that what is sad is that the commitments that were made by Ramaphosa at the Presidential Imbizo have not materialized.

“The president promised that potholes will be closed, sewerage spillages will be fixed and that there would be service delivery but currently at Emfuleni service delivery is basically nonexistent.”
