Midvaal says the water it supplies is safe for consumption

The MLM reaffirms that it adheres to standards outlined in the South African National Specification (SANS) for drinking water.

MIDVAAL. – Midvaal Local Municipality (MLM) has in a statement reassured the communities it serves that the water it supplies is safe for consumption.

This is after the municipality was made aware of concerns raised by residents regarding the quality and safety of the potable water supplied.

In a statement, MLM says: “We would like to reassure all residents that the water provided by MLM is safe for consumption. We can confirm that no contaminants, including cholera, were detected in the last 24-hour testing cycle.

MLM states that as a responsible institution, it has an approved water quality monitoring program in place.

“Water samples are taken on a daily and weekly basis at critical strategic points in the water supply system across the municipality.
These samples are then sent to an accredited laboratory for comprehensive analysis.”

The MLM reaffirms that it adheres to the standards outlined in the South African National Specification (SANS) for drinking water.

“Regular monitoring ensures that our water supply consistently meets these standards. The safety and well-being of our residents remain our top priority, and Midvaal is committed to delivering safe drinking water.”
