‘Nasi Ispani’ program’s false voice notes and images investigated

There had been concerns amongst the applicants following voice notes and images circulating on social media that their Curriculum Vitae's (CVs) were dumped.

SEDIBENG. – The fears of thousands of applicants for the Gauteng Provinces’ ‘Nasi Ispani’ program have been alleyed by the provincial government.

There had been concerns amongst the applicants following voice notes and images circulating on social media that their Curriculum Vitae’s (CVs) were dumped and will not be processed as per the normal recruitment process.

The Gauteng Province (GP), through the office of Premier Panyaza Lesufi, has said that it has instituted investigations regarding the source of the voice notes and the images and that action will be taken. The GP said that once the process of application and capturing of the CVs is done, applicants will receive a reference number confirming their application via SMS over the next two weeks.

“We wish to assure all applicants who submitted their applications physically that their information (contact details and jobs they applied for) was captured on the register they completed after submitting their applications. If their CVs cannot be found, we will contact them to resubmit before the closing date which is July 14.”

The ‘Nasi Ispani’ program, which saw thousands of jobs being advertised, was launched on Youth Day, 16 June and it saw thousands of young people applying at the 22 walk-in centers around the country. The program is aimed at addressing unemployment and promoting access to job opportunities available within GP.
