Maloka was shot and killed at his home in Vanderbijlpark on Friday night, October 3.
His sister, Deliwe Maloka says she received a call at around 20:30, alerting her of what had happened to her brother.

“As a family, we don’t have the exact details of what happened. We are deeply hurt by the incident.

“My brother was a good person, he was good to everyone. He was a people’s person and loved everyone. We were all just a big family. He is someone who always wanted to create peace and always urged us to remain calm.

“When my mother died, I felt like I would never feel that kind of pain. My brother’s passing has brought all of that pain back. I don’t know if I will ever heal from this.”

Maloka has been described as kind and humble by those who knew him. He will be laid to rest at the weekend.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo confirmed that two men were wounded after they were ambushed by an unknown suspect who shot at them.

“The two victims were rushed to the hospital, and one was declared dead on arrival. The motive for the shooting cannot be confirmed at this stage.
“A case of murder and attempted murder has been launched for investigation.”
