Six dead in taxi shooting

In what is alleged to have been a case of taxi violence, a shooting claimed the lives of several people in Sedibeng.

Six people were shot and killed on Wednesday morning , November 22, in Lakeside Estate, Sedibeng, during a shooting which is allegedly linked to taxi violence.

The incident occurred at a makeshift taxi rank in Temalebone where alleged taxi squad personnel were camping.

Riddled with bullet holes, five bodies lay on the ground as forensic pathologists investigated the scene.

In a separate incident about a meter away, three suspects remained placed on the ground after being apprehended by different law enforcement agencies comprising SAPS, Crime Prevent Wardens, and Gauteng Provincial Traffic.

Sedibeng Ster traced a third scene in Orange Farm where a taxi was riddled with bullet holes leaving one passenger dead.

Police were at the scene in all three scenes and dozens of bystanders watch as helicopters and scores of police vehicles roam the area.
