An armed robbery, in which three men got away with an undisclosed amount of money, was captured on video footage.

Gauteng police have launched a manhunt for three men involved in an armed robbery at a shopping centre.

The robbery took place at Arcon Park Shopping Centre in Vereeniging, Gauteng, on Friday.

According to police reports, three African men ambushed a cash management company’s crew when they were delivering and offloading cash to an ATM at the centre.

Following the brazen robbery, the trio made off with an undisclosed amount of money; firearms, including a rifle and a handgun belonging to the guards; and ammunition.

They fled the scene in a white Audi Q3, says Gauteng police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Amanda van Wyk.

Social media was abuzz after CCTV footage of the robbery was shared on various platforms.

In the footage, a security officer can be seen pulling a drop safe before entering the ATM area. One of the men, brandishing a firearm, ambushed the guard and pushed him to the ground, before snatching his rifle. The two other men quickly followed suit, trapping the other guard inside the ATM.

Moments later, the trio left the complex and rushed to their getaway car parked outside the premises.

Van Wyk says investigations are underway.
