Man (32) arrested for dealing in nyaope and crystal meth

A duo aged 32 and 65 was arrested on Friday in two separate incidents for dealing in drugs in the Free State.

SASOLBURG. – While Mzansi is grappling with drug abuse, police continue to arrest drug dealings in the country.

On Friday, the Fezile Dabi District Tactical Response Team arrested a 32-year-old man who dealing drugs.

According to Free State police spokesperson Sergeant Josephine Rani, the arrested man was apprehended in Zamdela on Friday, May 03, when police received a tip-off.

“Our tactical Response team received information about a male selling drugs at a house in the Walter Sisulu section.

The team swiftly responded, and on arrival, they found an African male who was in possession of Nyaope, Crystal Meth, and an undisclosed amount of cash.

The 32-year-old suspect was arrested and will appear before the Sasolburg Magistrate court soon,” said Rani.

Meanwhile, another African male aged 65 was arrested also for dealing in drugs around the Parys vicinity.

Rani said on Friday, 03 May 2024, at about noon, the Fezile Dabi District Trio Task Team was on patrol when they received information about an unknown male selling drugs from a silver Honda civic around Parys.

“The members spotted the said vehicle parked in front of one of the Supermarkets.  The vehicle was approached and one male was found in the vehicle.  While officers were searching through the vehicle, they found small sachets of Nyaope and half pills of Mandrax. The drugs and the vehicle were confiscated, and the suspect is expected to appear before the Parys Magistrate court soon,” she said.
