Attempted robbery at Thabong store

"As he went to check who it was, he saw an unknown man pulling out a firearm from his waist."

SEBOKENG. – A case of attempted business robbery is being investigated following an attempt to rob the Bradlows Furniture store at Thabong Shopping Center, Sebokeng last Tuesday.

Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane, a police spokesperson, said that the unknown man in his thirties was shot dead at Bradlows during the attempt.

“It is alleged that an employee of Fidelity Guard was at Bradlows Furniture Shop’s cash office to collect money. While opening the safe he heard a knock on the door, and as he went to check who it was, he saw an unknown man pulling out a firearm from his waist,” Mokhachane said adding that the man further pointed the firearm at the guard.

“The security officer acted swiftly and managed to pull out his firearm from his bulletproof holster. He shot the suspect once and saw him falling on the floor. The unknown man was declared dead by the EMS.”

Mokhachane appealed to the public to always be vigilant when going to the malls/ shopping centers.
