Mayoral walk brings people together

This annual 5km run/walk is aimed at fostering a culture of healthy living and community engagement.

MEYERTON. – The annual “Let’sWalk-With-The-Mayor” 5km Fun Walk Run brought people from all walks of life together for a fun run/walk on Saturday 18 May.

This annual event is aimed at fostering a culture of healthy living and community engagement in Midvaal and was attended by the Executive Mayor, Alderman Peter Teixeira, himself, members of the Midvaal Mayoral Committee, local Midvaal Councillors, members of the Meyerton Athletic Club, Midvaal Fire and Rescue, emergency services and members of the public.

Addressing the crowd shortly before the run got underway, Teixeira, said: “There are many other things that you could have done this morning, but the fact that you chose to be here really means a lot to me and the municipality…It is five kilometers. Let us go out there and have fun!”
