Sebokeng Hospital CEO Makibiti Madolo said she and her team are extremely grateful to the trust for bettering the lives of children in and around the area through the project.
Madolo said that the current ER Unit at the hospital, which is shared across all ages, can sometimes have a negative psychological impact on kids.
“These kids are coming here to get help, but because they are met with adults who have gone through accidents, shootings, and other violent accidents, they leave here more damaged psychologically.
“Kids are innocent and should not be exposed to various things happening in society. This new ER unit will help preserve their innocence and ensure they get the treatment they need without being exposed and damaged.” Madolo highlighted the importance of providing quality healthcare services to young children at the hospital
Madolo thanked the Carte Blanche Making a Difference Trustees and its patron Karolina Andropoulos.
Madolo stated the challenges they faced through the completion of the project, adding that they had to but heads with Andropoulos who was always cracking the whip, ensuring that the project reached completion. Speaking during the handover, Andropoulos said the trust is committed to making a difference in children’s lives.
Andropoulos thanked her team, donors, and various stakeholders responsible for the successful project. Andropoulos said the trust would continue in its strides to positively impact the lives of all children in the country through vast projects as they are the future.
Dr Joseph Theletsane took visitors on a tour of the brand new unit, explaining how young children accompanied by the mothers will get serviced in this unit.
