VEREENIGING – The police are appealing to the public for assistance in locating the next of kin of a deceased male who was a victim of an alleged vigilante attack in Powerville.

According to police spokesperson Sergeant Thembeka Maxambela, the body of Tshegofatso Emmanuel Moshoke, born on September 9, 1987, has been at the Sebokeng Government Mortuary since February.

“Despite ongoing investigations and efforts to locate his family, no relatives have come forward. SAPS is now seeking the public’s assistance in tracing any family members or acquaintances who may be able to assist in identifying and claiming the body.”

Maxambela requests that members of the community treat this matter with sensitivity and urgency.

“Our wish is that the deceased be given a dignified burial by his loved ones.”

Maxambela urges anyone with information regarding Moshoke’s family or background to contact Detective Mopeka on 082 778 5945 or report to the nearest police station.
