A learner from Selborne Primary in Vereeniging was struck by a minibus taxi outside the school on Tuesday afternoon. The child was reportedly unresponsive at the scene.

According to an update by Sekuriteit Sonder Grense’s Emergency Response Team an ambulance from ER24 has since arrived on the scene.
The patient, a Grade 1 learner, has been categorised as P4, indicating that they have succumbed to their injuries and that nothing further can be done.

VEREENIGING – A learner from Selborne Primary School was reportedly run over by a minibus taxi outside the school on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident is believed to have occurred at approximately 15:00 on Kruger Avenue, Vereeniging.
According to a voice note circulating on social media, the child was unresponsive at the scene, with blood and foam coming from their mouth. An urgent plea for an ambulance was made in the recording.
Emergency services have been called to the scene. Motorists are advised to avoid the area around Kruger Avenue while authorities attend to the situation.
