AYRTON scores double Afri-Indie Awards nomination as new single drops
AYRTON’s star keeps rising as raw talent meets industry recognition.
MIDVAAL – Rising local pop sensation AYRTON is hitting all the right notes again. Not only with the release of his latest single Want U To Go, but also with two major nominations at the upcoming Afri-Indie Awards.
The 21-yearold singer-songwriter from Midvaal has been nominated for Best Southern Rock Single for his emotive track I Will Go Far, as well as Best Songwriter, cementing his growing reputation as one of the country’s most promising independent music voices.
The Afri- Indie Awards, which honour South African independent artists, will be held in August at the AfriForum Theatre in Pretoria.
This exciting news comes just as AYRTON released his highly anticipated new single, Want U To Go, under the David Gresham Record Company.
Known for channeling raw emotion into his music, AYRTON once again opens his heart in this bold new track.
Produced by long-time collaborator Matthew Fink, Want U To Go blends edgy, modern pop production with emotionally charged storytelling and gives a signature sound that has drawn comparisons to Post Malone and Noah Kahan.
Following the success of previous 2024 releases Inner Kid in Me and I Will Go Far, this latest track reflects a young artist who’s not afraid to tackle tough emotional terrain.
His authentic songwriting continues to resonate with fans navigating love, loss, and self-discovery in the social media age.
With his talent now formally recognised by the Afri Indie Awards, AYRTON is an artist to watch.
