SEBOKENG – A dramatic cash-in-transit heist unfolded on the Golden Highway on Monday morning, causing major disruptions and drawing crowds from the surrounding area.

The incident occurred near the Sebokeng Convenience Stores, between Zone 20 and Polokong. Eyewitnesses report that the targeted security vehicle caught fire during the attack. In the aftermath, community members were seen scrambling for money, with some even climbing onto the smouldering vehicle.

Law enforcement has cordoned off the scene, bringing traffic between Vanderbijlpark and Johannesburg to a standstill. Emergency services are currently on site, and investigations are underway.
