SEBOKENG – Sebokeng police have launched a murder investigation after the body of a 19-year-old man was discovered in Golden Gardens on Sunday, June 20.

According to police spokesperson Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane, officers were called to the scene by concerned community members who reported a lifeless body found early that morning. Upon arrival, police confirmed the presence of a deceased male with a deep stab wound to the chest. Emergency Medical Services declared him dead on the scene.

The victim was later identified by a family member as a resident of Golden Gardens. He had last been seen on July 19 at a nearby shebeen, and it remains unclear how he ended up at the location where his body was found.

Police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward as investigations continue.

The motive behind the killing is unknown and the suspects are also unknown at this stage.
