SEBOKENG.- Vaal Dojo Karate Club conquered the Soweto Karate Tournament when they brought home five trophies over the weekend.

This karate tournament, which saw the karate clubs across Gauteng Province pitted against each other, was held under the auspices of IKO- Matsuhima Organisation. Vaal Dojo Karate Club, which represented Sedibeng, left no stone unturned.

They were outstanding in various categories.

This Zone 11-based karate club did not just bring home five trophies; they were also awarded for a standout challenge that kept the audience on the edge of their seats.

They were unstoppable.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Lerato ‘Pena’ Mohanoe said this was a major milestone achievement for the club.
Mohanoe said all the karateka’s who competed in the different age groups were outstanding throughout the tournament. He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that they went to this tournament well prepared and it was not a fluke that they came back home with those trophies.

“We, as Vaal Dojo Karate Club, are a group of proud and passionate karateka’s. They really didn’t disappoint on the day. They showcased their fighting spirit, which separated them from their competitors. I must say, Vaal was well represented. We want to thank everyone who was behind the team in terms of moral support,” he said.
