VANDERBIJLPARK – Runners from the Vaal Triangle won’t have to travel far to be part of South Africa’s most social 5km event, with the Boxer Super Run making its Johannesburg debut at Marks Park Sports Club on Sunday, 09 November 2025. The venue, just a short drive from Vanderbijlpark, Vereeniging and Sasolburg, makes the event more accessible than ever for local athletes and fun runners. Entries open this Friday, 26 September.
Organisers say the move to Johannesburg promises a fresh route and a festive new atmosphere. Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports, described the event as more than just a run. “A new venue brings a new route and fresh experiences for everyone. Marks Park has hosted countless fantastic sporting events, and we’re excited to add the Boxer Super Run to its history.”
Lee-Ann Pillay, Head of Marketing at Boxer Superstores, said the race is designed for everyone, from elite athletes to social joggers and families. “The Boxer Super Run is all about energy, fun, and celebrating community. Our Durban race sold out in record time, so we encourage everyone to enter early. Whether you’re running, walking, or cheering, you’ll be part of the action.”
The day will feature multiple start waves to cater for serious competitors, social groups, schools, charities, and elite runners. Participants as young as nine can take part, with each entry including a performance T-shirt, goodie bag, race number, timing chip and finisher’s medal.
Entries close on Monday, 03 November, or once capacity is reached. For updates, follow Boxer Superstores and the Boxer Super Run 5K on Facebook, or @boxer_superstores and @boxer_superun5k on Instagram.
