Third water outage in 11 days hits Meyerton areas
Meyerton residents face another water outage as recurring pipe bursts hit Kookrus and surrounding areas.

MEYERTON. — Parts of Meyerton were left without water again this weekend after a burst main line and pipe failure in Kookrus, marking the third water-related outage this year.
According to Midvaal Local Municipality, water was temporarily shut off following a burst at Danie Smal and at the corner of Joose Williams Road and Rachel de Beer Street. Affected areas included Rothdene, Kookrus and Riverstone Mall.
The municipality estimated the outage would last about 3.5 hours and apologised for the inconvenience.
A contact at Riverstone Mall said residents and businesses are growing frustrated.
“Dis al die derde keer hierdie jaar — en dit is net 11 Januarie. Wat gaan aan met die pype?”
Concerns are mounting about the state of water infrastructure and the frequency of pipe bursts in the area.
