Get ready to launch: Vaal boating season details announced

Everyone is invited, and you don’t even need a boat to join the fun on the Vaal River.

VANDERBIJLPARK – Winter might still have a hold on us, but plans are already underway to kick off the Official Opening of the Vaal River Boating Season!

Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 5.

It’s completely free to attend and truly a spectacular sight to see.

Got a boat, barge, or jet ski? Now is the perfect time to get your vessel water-ready.

Before you launch, make sure your skipper’s licence is valid, your Certificate of Fitness (COF) is up to date, and your safety gear fully complies with SAMSA regulations.

The meet-up for boat owners is at 13:00 opposite Vaal River Lodge.

All the boats will then travel together in one big flotilla towards the Baddrift Bridge, where the boating season will be declared open at 14:00.

If you need a hand to get everything in order before the big day, local Vaal Qualified Safety Officers are standing by to help you get shipshape.
