Vereeniging siblings racing for glory in Mozambique

Morgan and Zander Jacobs have their sights firmly set on podium finishes as they step onto the international circuit.

VEREENIGING – Local motorsport sensations and sibling duo, Zander (16) and Morgan Jacobs (18), are preparing to fly the South African flag high on the international stage when they compete at the Automóvel & Touring Clube de Moçambique (ATCM) track in Maputo on August 15.

Despite their young age, the brother-and-sister team has quickly established themselves as rising stars on long-circuit tracks across Gauteng and beyond.

Zander, currently in his rookie season, has already delivered a standout performance.

Competing in five rounds of the Historic and Inland Tour at both the Zwartkops International Raceway and Red Star Raceway, his impressive string of podium finishes has propelled him to first place overall in the SilverCup 2.0 A+ Championship.

He will be getting behind the wheel of his No. 17 spaceframe Opel Tigra in Maputo.

His older sister, Morgan, is in her second year on the long circuit and currently drives for the Pablo Clark Racing / EasyEquities development team.

Behind the wheel of her BMW E36, Morgan secured her first trophy in July after battling through a fiercely competitive field of BMWs. For the Maputo showpiece, she will be putting her spaceframe VW Corrado through its paces.

For both drivers, Maputo is just the beginning. The ultimate goal for the duo is to take their racing careers to Europe.
