The Highveld team of Working on Fire has walked away with the floating trophy for the 2014/2015 North West Team of the Year.

The WoF programme has had a significant impact on the lives of over 5000 beneficiaries who are employed in the programme. After the 2013/2014 Yellow Card Training camp, it was decided to introduce a “Team of the Year” competition in the province. In addition to their Yellow Card performance, teams are measured on 10 criteria in their general performance all year round performance, including safety, attendance, fitness, stock loss control, discipline and production.

Dave Williams, the general manager of NW, said the Highveld team, stationed in Potchefstroom, had proven its abilities and passion by coming out tops. Runners up were Boskop in second place, and Kagisano and Welverdiend teams that shared third place.

The base manager of the Highveld team, Gift Ramoitheki, said his team was able to do so well because of their good working relationship with the supervisors and the support from the staff and management of Working on Fire.
