It is finally happening Oefentse Molawa, a former learner of HTS Sasolburg will be flying to Japan in less than a week to start his studies at the Hakhoh University in Oyama City close to Tokyo. He will be there on a full scholarship for his rugby achievements. Oefentse is the second Spanner of the Class of 2021 to study overseas on a bursary.

In 2021 he was the First XV Captain in a very disrupted season where we played only friendlies no league games in the Blue and White was played that year.
While his departure to Japan was delayed due to the Covid pandemic last year Oefentse attended online lectures at the Hakhoh University.
This is a four-year bursary after which he can even qualify for a professional contract in Japan. Who knows he might even be playing for Japan against the Boks in the future.
