VEREENIGING. – The Vaal Karate and Fitness Institute is bursting with pride after its students won 25 medals at the Best Karate Tournament held on Saturday, June 3 in Pretoria.

The Vaal is especially proud of Debbie Wagner who despite being diagnosed with cervical cancer last year, overlapping this year, fought through chemo and radiation, competed in the tournament, and received a gold medal in Kata and Kumite.

What a remarkable achievement and a perfect example for her son, Ulrick who also earned two gold medals in Kata and Kumite, and her daughter Elona who received a bronze medal in Kata and a gold medal in Kumite.
