VAALPARK – Australian Austin Bautista kept his form going today at the Mediclinic Invitational at Heron Banks Golf & River Estate as he moved into a second-round lead with Keegan McLachlan.
Finished on top of the leaderboard on day one. Bautista produced a bogey-free 66 to join McLachlan at 11-under-par.
McLachlan signed for a 68 despite not being fully on song.
The pair hold a one-shot lead over Keagan Thomas (67) and Wynand Dingle (64).
Dingle carded a hole-in-one on the first day on the 17th hole.
Despite two bogeys, McLachlan was pleased to stay in contention heading into the final two rounds.
He is embracing the chance to chase his maiden Sunshine Tour title.
