Four burglars caught in the act – two escape

Four burglars were caught red-handed at a local shop in Eden Park, while two suspects escaped.

EDEN PARK – The shop-owner, James, received a call from a resident at about 05:00, notifying him that people are breaking into his shop.

“It took me less than 10 minutes to get to my shop and I caught two of the thugs red-handed in the shop, still busy hoisting their loot through the hole in the ceiling.

“Two of them ran away, but will be arrested because they are known to me. One of the four broke into my shop a year ago, and also involved in the break-ins are two notorious brothers in Eden Park. One of the brothers was arrested, while the other is on the run with the fourth suspect.

“They stole a lot of liquor, airtime vouchers, cash and my iPad,” said an agitated James.

The burglars broke a hole through the wall and gained entry into the shop through the ceiling. The arrested suspects are awaiting their first court appearance, while the police are on the lookout for the other two.

James would like to take this opportunity to thank the resident who phoned him and gave him the tip-off about the burglary.
