Charlie T judges Miss SA in Port Elizabeth

Charlton Tobias joined Bridget Masinga in the Eastern Cape on Saturday.

Algoa FM morning show host Charlton Tobias was the celebrity judge at the Eastern Cape Miss South Africa 2017 regional judging which took place on Saturday, August 6, at the Boardwalk Casino and Entertainment World in Port Elizabeth.

He joined a line-up that includes TV personality Bridget Masinga. They form part of the panel for the regional judging, which takes place around South Africa this month and which sees the inclusion of various guest judges at the different venues.

Charlton Tobias, aka Charlie T, currently co-presents the breakfast show on Algoa FM. He has also worked on Supersport during the IPL cricket in South Africa and appeared on Idols SA, giving his input about contestants.  “I want someone with confidence.  It can be quite intimidating walking in front of such a large audience. I will not only be looking for style and looks but also for someone who speaks well and is articulate. As an ambassador for South Africa, the potential winner will be required to speak at many events,” Tobias said, while explaining what he looked for in a potential Miss South Africa.

As one of the founding presenters on the hugely successful television magazine show All Access, Bridget Masinga has cemented her brand as one of South Africa’s leading entertainers.

The Miss South Africa pageant, presented by Sun International in collaboration with Cell C, takes place at Sun City at the end of March next year. For the first time in the history of the pageant, the winner will receive R1 million in cash as well as a car, an international holiday and other prizes in a package that exceeds R2 million. The finalists for 2017 will each receive a R25 000 cash prize.
