WATCH: Robbie Wessels releases Siya Kolisi tribute ‘treffer’

The musician created a song dedicated entirely to praising the Springbok captain.


In light of the outcome of the 2019 Rugby World Cup, Afrikaans musician Robbie Wessels has released a tribute song dedicated to Siya Kolisi.

The song, which was published on YouTube on 21 November 2019, currently has 115,025 views.

With the opening lines “Siya Kolisi, you’ve written your name on every heart in this land, you’ve broken the barriers of cultures and races, you’ve planted good seed in the ground,” the song waxes lyrical about the perceived impact of what Kolisi and his squad achieved when they brought home the Webb Ellis trophy.

It even evokes the “stronger together” message which was the tagline of the national team during their RWC campaign.

Wessels then goes on to pose his question to Kolisi in the second part of the song before heaping more praise upon him.

Rassie Erasmus even gets an honourable mention. Take a listen below:
