Artwork for a cause by Makamo and MaXhosa sells for R670K

The artwork was created in 2018 and beautifully showcases the distinctive style of both artists.


Popular and world-renowned fashion designer Laduma Ngxokolo, founder of MaXhosa, collaborated with artist Nelson Makamo to sell their tapestry art piece in raising funds for the support and relief programme Save-A-Business.

The online auction saw the artwork being sold for R670,000.

Save-A-Business offers relief to small businesses affected by Covid-19, with donations distributed weekly to 10 businesses chosen by the public.

The artwork was created in 2018 and beautifully showcases the distinctive style of both artists.
