AKA launches ‘One Time’ music video

Produced and written by AKA, 'One Time' is his first single in the pop genre.

It wasn’t the Samas, but the who’s who of the South African recording industry showed up at the exclusive premiere of AKA’s One Time music video hosted by G.H.MUMM at the magnificent Munro Boutique Hotel in Houghton, Johannesburg. Guests including AKA’s buddies, Da Les, Nomuzi Mabena, Ayanda Thabethe, Yanga, and Dash of DreamTeam were just some of the big names in attendance on Thursday, July 14, when they came together to celebrate and toasted AKA with a glass of G.H.MUMM Champagne for his recent platinum status and music video success.

The #3RDWRLDBOSS, who was listed on the BBC RADIO & BBC 1 XTRA prestigious “HOT FOR 2016”, proved why there was no stopping his momentum, as the new music video filmed by Studio Space Pictures dared to bring his smash hit single to life. Not only is the music video entertaining and relatable but it showcases a great sense of humour on a subject that is both currently popular and provocative.

Produced and written by AKA, One Time is his first single in the pop genre, and has all the makings of a classic song, following the trend of his previous hits such as Congratulate, Run Jozi and All Eyes on Me from his album Levels which was recently certified platinum. In fact AKA was awarded plaques by his management company, Vth Season Audio, and G.H.MUMM for his platinum status at the event.

“AKA epitomises the three pillars of the G.H.MUMM brand – Dare. Win. Celebrate. The collaboration with AKA is part of an ongoing organic relationship we have built between himself and the brand, and we dare to look to support, celebrate and provide assistance where we can both on a local and international level, be it through music videos, launches or other elements,” explains Etienne Cassuto, brand manager for G.H.MUMM.
