Somizi’s ‘blue’ Christmas – December not ‘Decembering’ like it used to

Somizi says his silver lining is that he is still standing, and walks with his ancestors and with God.

If you are feeling the festive blues, you are not the only one. There’s been a growing perception over the last two years’ December isn’t “Decembering” as it used to.

Many people have taken to social media to say that the current festive period doesn’t feel the same and it’s not due to the pandemic.

Some think this may be attributed to adulthood and growing older, as it becomes less important to have the Christmas spirit because people are trying not to go broke by January.

One celebrity who agrees that December isn’t the same is Somizi Mhlongo. During a motivational talk for fans on Instagram, he told fans to not give up and go for their dreams, adding that it’s hard because this festive season isn’t doing much.

“This festive season is not festive at all. I am not feeling it and I understand why. I am sure a lot of people can relate to that. This year has been a kak year but I always see a silver lining between a dark cloud.”
