‘Yizo Yizo’ actress Bubu Mazibuko announces pregnancy at 47

Yizo Yizo star Bubu Mazibuko is over the moon and ready to welcome her “miracle” baby. The 47-year-old took to Instagram to announce that she is expecting.

She posted a video of her and her partner standing by the ocean and enjoying the sea breeze followed by a touching caption.

The happy mom-to-be said she will one day open up about the hardships that she went through. She also thanked her family, friends, and fertility doctors.

“What A long & intense journey! But here we finally are! Living in what feels like a dream and a definite miracle. I was going to detail the hardships of this journey for us, and I probably will write about it one day, but today all I want to express is gratitude. 

“Thank you to everyone who held our hands through this long process… family, friends, and particularly our fertility doctors. Thank you. This has to be one of the happiest times of my life. We can’t wait to meet you.”

“Congratulations Bubu”

Fans and celebrities, including Manaka Ranaka, Zizo Tshwete, and Gugu Gumede have since flooded the comments section with congratulatory messages.

“I’m scream-crying right now. Look at God! Faithful!!! I am beyond thrilled for you both @bubumazibuko. We pray for your family on this journey. May joy overshadow the tears it took getting here. This just made me so happy!!” Zizo commented.

Manaka said: “Congratulations Bubu. Oh, Nkosi yam, I love this for you and Sunshine”.

Moving abroad

Bubu moved to Los Angeles, California, a few years ago, where she reportedly works as a director. During her time in South Africa, the actress acted on numerous TV shows, including Catch a Fire as Betsy, Gaz’lam as Thuli, and Lindiwe in Man on Ground.

She also bagged a few award nominations. A Duku Duku Award for Best Female Actor in a Drama for her Gaz’lam role, and Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Award for Best Actress in a Drama, for her role as Lindiwe. In 2006, she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the South African Film and Television Awards.
